2011 South African Wine Guide Ratings
The end of the year can be heard arriving in the South African winelands. It is the start of the busy season, summer brings more visitors to the cellar, vineyards around are a buzz of activity but it is the buzz of conversation about the annual Platter Ratings that signify the start of summer.
Every year, around the end of November the new Platter Guide is relesed. The favourite, almost cliché wine conservation of the importance of these ratings can be heard echoed around tasting rooms and cellars all around. This year no less than any previous year. It is clear that the Platter ratings do carry weight in the winelands, and it is difficult to imagine life before the fisrt edition!
Ntsiki did it again this year, and the Stellekaya page is ever increasing pink. Pink (or sort-of-wine-red) is the colour used by the guide to identify wines of 4 stars and above. To be in the pink is quite an achivement, and we are very proud of Ntsiki and her team for continuing the high standard in wine making.
